DUBAI, 11 August 2006 — USRobotics (USR), a platinum equity company, in collaboration with computer assembler ZAI Technologies and distribution partner International Computer Company (ICC), has secured a major deal to provide USRobotics MAXg Wireless PCI Cards to Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah.

The deal follows the University’s decision to acquire personal computers with PCI wireless cards from ZAI Technologies, for whom ICC acts as the distribution arm.

Sumit Kumar, regional sales manager at USRobotics, said, “Saudi Arabia is strategically one of the most important markets for USRobotics. Winning this major contract from Umm Al-Qura University comes at a time when we are focusing on expanding our presence in the Kingdom.

ICC, which has been our valued partner since Q4 of last year, has already built an excellent market reputation through their strengths in distribution, which has played an influential role in winning this deal. We also thank ZAI Technologies for choosing USR MAXg Wireless PCI Cards.”

“The resulting partnership between ICC, ZAI Technologies, and USRobotics has been highly successful for all parties.

It has enabled ZAI Technologies to reinforce their reputation as a provider of high performance products, while helping USRobotics strengthen their market position in Saudi Arabia.

The USR MAXg wireless cards, which are known for their high performance and cost-effectiveness, will perfectly fit the requirements of Umm Al-Qura University as they look to continue their tradition of imparting quality education,” said Ahmed Mousa, networking products manager, International Computer Company.

The USRobotics MAXg product family is the first to combine all the latest performance and range enhancements for the home or office. MAXg integrates hardware and software technology that delivers up to 50 percent better range and faster connections than standard 802.11g. MAXg provides up to 125 Mbps performance, as compared to 54 Mbps for standard 802.11g.

The International Computer Company, established in 1982, is a leading distributor, system integrator, wholesaler and retailer of IT products, with showrooms and dealer network across the Kingdom.
