JEDDAH, 28 January 2006 — Once again, Toyota, which has played a pioneering role in promoting motor sport across the Kingdom, has asserted itself by sponsoring the upcoming Hail Rally.
Toyota said yesterday, it decided to sponsor the rally due to the growing importance and popularity of motor sport here.
A decade ago, Toyota became one of the companies supporting international rally driver Abdullah Bakhashab and it continues to do so. He justified the support through his achievements in various national, regional and world competitions.
Toyota’s sponsorship of the first rally was for “Races of champions 2001” in which many Middle East rally drivers participated. They took part again in 2002 with success.
Toyota started the Future Rally Driver campaign and Rally School, which remain under its sponsorship.
Thereafter, it launched the Toyota Rally, eyeig the Middle East Championship. It continues to introduce a lot of motor sport races and championships through its sponsorship of the autocross championships, Camry 1MZ and Tatees races.
It is through such activities that Toyota helps youth to drive and compete in a safe way.
Toyota also supports F1, which proves its support for motor sport through a strategic plan.
