JUBAIL, 5 February 2006 — For the second day yesterday, young scouts from all over the world participated in several cultural and athletic activities at an international gathering of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. Scouts from all over the globe began arriving last week to Al-Deffi Park for the 10-day event.

Scouts always search for fun and they rarely consider it fun unless it has an element of risk and competition. To this end, the committees responsible for dare games prepared the “Challenge Valley” with 13 games.

The supervisor of the valley games, Waleed Flimban, said the games were aimed at measuring the participants’ ability and stamina. He assured that the committee made sure the competition was safe.

Scouts at Jubail are not isolated from the rest of the world. They had the chance to exercise their hobby of broadcasting by radio, delivering the message of peace and tolerance to more than 25 countries and exchange conversations with other individuals, representing countries from all over the world by transforming the camp message “Together for Peace” to all wireless amateurs in the world.

The main purpose of the camp is to get to learn how to coordinate with others who are different in language, color and belief. The camp’s Islamic scholar, Abdul Karim Bakkar, gave a lecture entitled “The Essence of True Culture Toward Achieving Peace.”
