JEDDAH, 8 February 2006 — The first official visit of a Thai trade delegation to the Kingdom that was scheduled to begin on Feb. 1 was canceled due to visa problems, Srawut Daud Chankao, director of the Thai Trade Center, told Arab News yesterday.
He said they had been planning this visit since last year and had applied with all the official documents for visas to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “The papers were then sent to the Ministry of Commerce and nothing was heard from them,” Chankao said.
He said that delegates waited until the last moment for a reply before canceling the visit.
He noted that they would plan to organize another visit later this year.
