NEW DELHI, 14 February 2006 — Nirmalendu Diwakar alias Bunty, a grade nine student of the Don Bosco Public School Patna who was abducted almost a month ago, returned home yesterday. Fifteen-year-old Bunty, son of former Director of Bihar Animal Husbandry Department and fodder scam accused O.P. Diwakar, was released near Mahatma Gandhi Bridge at Hajipur in Vaishali district, Patna Police Superintendent Kundan Krishnan said. Nirmalendu, who was kidnapped from the Harnichak locality of Patna on Jan. 17, called his family from Hajipur. He was brought home by his family. Nirmalendu’s brother Bimalendu said the boy was under sedation and very weak. The abduction of Nirmalendu had triggered widespread protests in the state capital.
