RIYADH, 12 March 2006 — Air-India has reduced its excess baggage (EB) rates from Riyadh with immediate effect, the airline announced in a press release here on Thursday. “Our EB rates have been reduced to SR13 per kg flat from SR38 per kg for passengers to south India and SR 28 on the Delhi-Bombay sector,” the airline said, adding that it is the first international carrier to do so. “Not a single airline in the world has reduced their EB rates to the extent A-I has done,” the airline claimed. With this, there will be competition in EB rates as well and the beneficiaries will be the traveling public.
