JEDDAH, 16 March 2006 — Prince Khaled ibn Abdullah, president of board of trustees of Ahli soccer academy, received Tuesday night the president of the General Presidency of Youth Welfare, Prince Sultan ibn Fahd, and Prince Sultan’s deputy, Prince Nawaf ibn Faisal, at the academy.
Ahli fans greeted the prince during the historic visit in which Prince Sultan made a tour inside the club academy and mingled with the young Ahli players.
Prince Khaled thanked the prince for the visit which reflected the government’s continuous support. Prince Sultan said the academy is a perfect project to discover new talents.
He said that the academy deserves this name and other clubs should emulate the Ahli example. Prince Nawaf was impressed by the visit and with what he saw.
He said that the academy would help produce and develop young national talents that will help the club and the national team in the future.
Besides the physical aspect the academy also contribute to the mental well-being of the students by offering them lessons in academics.
