RIYADH, 16 March 2006 — Al-Shabab club has closed the deal for the transfer of Al-Wehda striker Alaa Al-Kuwaikbi to Shabab for the rest of the season. Al- Kuwaikbi joins another former Wehda striker, Naser Al-Shamrani, at Shabab. The deal cost SR 200,000. Al- Kuwaikbi expressed happiness in joining the leading team in the Saudi soccer league.
Nasr Striker Al-Harthi to Join Ittihad
RIYADH — International and Al-Nasr club striker Saad Al-Harthi is set to join Al-Ittihad club for the remainder of the season. All honorary members of Nasr club including the president, Prince Faisal ibn Abdulrahman, agreed on the deal. The contract signing is expected to take place at Ittihad club today. Al-Harthi is to be paid by Ittihad SR300,000 for three months’ job.
Saudi League Matches
RIYADH — The Saudi Soccer League resumes today with two matches in round 21. In Riyadh, Shabab take on Nasr in a match that is expected to be tough. Shabab will be looking for the three win points to pull farther away from Hilal, while the game does not mean anything to Nasr except to save face by winning in front of their fans. Al-Ittifaq host Taie in Dammam in a non-bearing match for both teams having exited from the competition.
