RIYADH, 26 November 2006 — Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal inaugurated here yesterday the periodic meeting for Saudi ambassadors.
The five-day conference will discuss several issues on the national and international level and aim at activating coordination between the Kingdom’s embassies and the ministry. Regulating and improving the embassies’ performance through the application of new administrative and technological developments will also be discussed.
Referring to the topic of allowing Saudi women to work in the diplomatic corps, he commented that the ministry has forged ahead with this issue. Adding that he aspires to the day when husband and wife can work together in the Kingdom’s embassies abroad without resorting to non-Saudi staffers.
He added that the ministry seeks to update and develop the administrative system in order to stamp out the phenomenon of duality, long procedures and lots of committees for proper usage for resources.
“Improving performance does not only mean analyzing the aspects of deficiency but also innovating means suitable for the available capabilities and taking the best ways assuring the attainment of the pinpointed goals, as well,” said the prince.
