JEDDAH, 5 August 2006 — The Ministry of Higher Education has warned students against dealing with unlicensed agents and depending on posts and electronic mail to obtain admissions in foreign universities and institutes.
The ministry made this warning after it learned that many students who were recommended for higher studies abroad had made contracts with unlicensed offices to complete the admission process.
The ministry has instructed local newspapers to stop publishing advertisements of unauthorized agencies after a number of fraudulent incidents have been brought to its attention.
