BAHA, 10 April 2006 — Police have failed to trace the missing adolescent girl from her home in Al-Zafir district for the third consecutive day.
“Air and land search teams have been scanning the entire region, including valleys and mountains and they could not get any clue,” Maj. Gen. Ali Ibrahim Al-Qarni, director general of Civil Defense in the region.
“It is possible that she is outside Baha region and it is the second time that she has run away from home. The first time she was found near a health center in the neighborhood,” he said.
Al-Qarni said the girl was not physically attacked or sexually molested in her first disappearance when Civil Defense officials returned her to her parents. The girl had showed symptoms of mental disturbances two years ago and was treated at a mental hospital, he said.
