JEDDAH, 14 April 2006 — The names of the Tunisian national team players will be announced after the Tunisian League ends, according to Assabah Daily Tunisian Newspaper. The list of the Tunisian squad will be announced by the beginning of May after it is submitted to the Tunisian Football Federation.

French coach Roger Lemerre, 63, who joined the Tunisian national team in October 2002, is to lead the national team through World Cup 2006.

Lemerre brought the Tunisian national team victory as he managed to lift the team to win the African Cup after they beat Morocco 2-1 in the final. Francileudo Santos scored the first goal at the 5th minute and Ziad Al-Jaziri at the 52nd minute.

Lemerre was the official coach for the French national team during World Cup 2002. However, he wasn’t able to take the French to victory. The Tunisians have very high expectations from Lemerre in raising the performance of the Tunisian national team at World Cup 2006.

According to Assabah Daily, the Tunisian national team is expected to meet the Kuwaiti national team in a friendly match in Germany before World Cup 2006 starts.
