DULAM, 18 May 2006 — A father who lost his daughter in an automobile accident found himself in bureaucratic limbo when the department in charge of civic records listed him as the casualty of the accident, the daily Okaz reported yesterday. The family discovered the mistake when the father went to purchase stocks using his family ID card. The bank accused the man of forgery when they looked up the family records and discovered that he had been listed as dead. (In a system where it takes three months to get a phone line, who knows how long it will take to clear up that bureaucratic mess.)
