Court Disqualifies Balochistan Minister

ISLAMABAD, 26 May 2006 — The Supreme Court of Pakistan disqualified Balochistan’s Minister Hafiz Hamadullah yesterday. Rival candidate of Hafiz Hamadullah,Salim Saifullah had advanced an electoral petition against Hafiz pleading that Hafiz had not completed two years after leaving his government job therefore was not eligible to contest the election. Hafiz was a school teacher at a provincial government school and he had left his job only one and half years before contesting election.
