CAIRO, 6 September 2006 — Egyptian actress Sabreen has denied any wrongdoing over her simultaneous contracts with various film producers, the Al-Watan daily reported yesterday.
Sabreen said she had signed a contract to play the lead actress in the movie “Mawwal Al-Nahar” written by Majdi Salem and to be directed by Essam Shaaban. However, due to some unforeseen developments the shooting of the film was postponed indefinitely.
Under the circumstances, she said she saw no harm in signing contracts with other producers.
Meanwhile, “Kashkol li Kulli Muwatin,” another movie in which Sabreen is playing a lead role, will be released by the end of this month.
The story revolves around a devout wife who learns about the corrupt practices of her husband, a prominent businessman, after she stumbles upon his secret diary.
