IIFA to Hold Fashion Extravaganza in Dubai

DUBAI, 7 June 2006 — The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) will hold its Annual IIFA Foundation Fashion Extravaganza in Dubai on June 15 as part of the 7th Annual IIFA Weekend and Awards.

The IIFA Fashion Extravaganza is supported by Rosy Blue Group, the world’s largest diamond manufacturing company that has had a long and successful association with the Hollywood and Indian film industry in the past, from providing jewels for Nicole Kidman’s in Moulin Rouge to dressing up Indian actress Mallika Sherawat for Cannes 2006.

Harshad Mehta, chairman, Rosy Blue FZE said, “We are proud to associate with IIFA and the Indian film industry in their support of such a humanitarian, noble cause.”

Manish Malhotra and Vikram Phadnis, the two Indian celebrity designers will showcase their collections at the IIFA Foundation Fashion Extravaganza. Rosy Blue has designed a special jewelry collection for the occasion and will also host a black tie dinner post the show for Indian stars, corporate chieftains and international dignitaries.

The evening will also see for the first time a unique hand printing ceremony of Indian superstars at the Dubai Studio City’s Wall of Fame, an interactive concept that allows film fans the opportunity to access information through interactive screens on their favorite artists and celebrities. The event will add to the excitement of the 2006 IIFA Weekend and Awards, the four-day Indian cinema blitz to be held in Dubai from June 14-17, organized by IIFA and presented by Tiara Residence.

M.A.C. cosmetics Company will fly in more than 17 celebrated make-up artists from around the world to style the look of the models for the IIFA fashion show and other red carpet events during the IIFA Weekend. Frank Provost will do the hair styling.

The IIFA Charity Foundation has been instituted in 2003 by IIFA management in association with the IL&FS Foundation Company Ltd. who has helped form the charitable foundation. The proceeds from the event will go to the IIFA Foundation fund set up to assist behind the scene workers of the Indian film fraternity.
