Arabian Beauties to Vie for ‘Miss Arab World’ Crown

SHARAM EL-SHEIKH, 29 July 2006 — Efforts are underway to select a “Miss Arab World” by the Motion Media Production Company under the auspices of the Egyptian Tourism Ministry in this tourist city in southern Sinai, the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper reported yesterday.

The competition, which is scheduled for today, is one of the major attractions of the first Arab Tourism Festival that kick-started on Wednesday.

Hanan Nasr, president of the festival said beauties from 13 Arab countries would participate in the first-ever “Miss Arab World” pageant.

The jury compromises experts from the fashion and beauty industries. The pageant will be accompanied by performances by Lebanese singer Jad Showeiry, Libyan Rida Jaafar and Moroccan Fadwa Maliki.
