Driver, Illegals Busted After Chase

JEDDAH, 20 July 2006 — Road safety police arrested 12 Yemeni nationals for entering the country illegally and Saudi driver who was smuggling them in his car to Jeddah after a hot chase near Al-Gauz checkpoint on Tuesday, Al-Madinah newspaper reported yesterday. The police found them in a car that failed to stop at the checkpoint. The vehicle overturned at a sharp turn during the high-speed pursuit. The driver had promised to take the undocumented Yemeni migrants to Jeddah for a fee. All of them have been handed to the local police for legal action.
