AMMAN, 20 July 2006 — Nine Saudi nationals were killed and 38 others wounded yesterday when their bus overturned on the highway between the cities of Zarqa and Mafraq, about 60 kilometers east of the capital, Amman, according to civil defense sources.
Eight of the bus’ occupants were seriously injured, the sources were quoted as saying by the official Petra news agency.
The sources did not elaborate as to the reasons behind the accident, but said that the wounded were evacuated by civil defense personnel to a hospital in Mafraq for medical treatment.
