TABUK, 4 November 2006 — A Saudi teacher in the northern city of Tabuk surprised his students when he entered the classroom wearing an ihram (the two pieces of seamless cloth that a pilgrim wears while performing Haj and Umrah), the Al-Madinah newspaper reported yesterday. Students later learned that their teacher, who taught them Islamic jurisprudence, came to the class in the unusual attire to teach them about the ihram. The teacher won the applause from his colleagues for introducing a practical method to teaching.
