DAMMAM, 25 September 2006 — Several Arab TV channels are showing serials aimed at increasing public awareness about the dangers of terrorism, the Al-Watan daily reported yesterday.

Director Aamir Mahmoud, is busy shooting anti-terror scenes for LBC’s “Tash Ma Tash” in Syria. The first episode of the serial was shown on Saturday. LBC is currently showing another serial called “Marigon” (Deviants) focusing on terror and its bitter consequences.

The serial is comprised of 10 separate stories. Each story consists of three episodes. They discuss the history and growth of terrorist ideology in Arab countries. The film also discusses how terrorist acts change the course of politics and reverse economic growth in some countries.

Each story was written by separate writers. Hassan Yusuf wrote one of them called “Bene Al-Jabhatain” (Between the Two Fronts). It is the story of a young man whose failed love prompts him to go to Afghanistan. His uncle, a journalist, goes in search of him and finally learns that he has been sent to Guantanamo Bay.

In another story, the dilemma of an Arab family in Britain following the London bomb attacks is examined.
