LG Electronics Opens 24-Hour Call Center

JEDDAH, 28 September 2006 — LG Electronics opened its customer information center (CIC), described as the first of its kind, at the United Yousef M. Naghi Co. (UYMN) showroom on Tahlia Street on Tuesday night.

Ammar Y. Naghi of Yousuf M.A. Naghi & Sons Group, C.K. Cho, LG’s general manager for Saudi Arabia, Omar Song, managing director of Dubai-based LG Electronics Middle East Co. Ltd., and Un Chul Hwang, executive vice president for LG operations at UYMN, took part in the press conference and ribbon cutting ceremony that followed.

Naghi said his company had embarked on the project as part of its continued endeavor to offer best service to its growing number of customers. “This also marks the further strengthening of our interactive relationship with the South Korean electronic giant,” he said.

Song said the CIC, essentially a call center, would provide general and in-depth information on LG products available across the Kingdom including their specifications, qualities, features and utilization. Customers can also obtain all information about after-sales service, warranty management and maintenance procedure related to all LG products and home appliances. The help desk at the center will be accessible 24 hours a day for on-line inquiries, on the spot advice and the trouble shooting of frequent operative problems. Cho said the toll free number (800 244 2929) of the center would take inquiries in both Arabic and English. “We expect around 35,000 calls to be generated in 2006,” he said. “This is one step toward our ‘Cyber information center’ dream,” he added.

Raed R. Al-Rasheed, sales general manager for LG at UYMN, in his presentation explained how the CIC would serve as a reliable source of information on LG products for current as well as potential customers. “The mission of the call center is to be a one-stop-shop for information on products, prices and services.
