Islamabad to Register All Afghan Nationals

ISLAMABAD, 29 September 2006 — The Pakistan government decided yesterday to register all Afghans living in Pakistan. The Interior Ministry sent a directive to the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) to register all Afghan nationals who are living in Balochistan, North Western Frontier Province, Islamabad and Federally Administered Tribal Areas. The Interior Ministry has directed the NADRA to coordinate with UNHCR and UNDP for fresh registration of Afghan refugees or nationals.
