TAIF, 29 October 2006 — Police have launched a search for a 21-year-old mother of one who went missing inside a zoo in Taif, Al-Jazirah newspaper reported yesterday. The woman, an Arab expatriate, was visiting the zoo with her husband and four-year-old daughter. According to the husband, the woman went to a bathroom after the Maghreb prayers while he waited with his daughter. She failed to return and the man could not find her. He then contacted the police and complained about his missing wife.
Carjacker Arrested After Street Chase
TAIF, 29 October 2006 — Police seized two stolen cars after a street chase in Taif, according to Al-Jazirah newspaper. Officers arrested one of the carjackers while the other managed to escape. The cars were returned to their original owners.
Moonshine Worth SR1.5m Seized
RIYADH, 29 October 2006 — The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention Vice busted a gang of African bootleggers who were trying to circulate more than 40,000 liters of illicit liquor in Riyadh, reported the Al-Jazirah. The bootleggers, including four men and two women, were operating from a factory located in the Al-Shafa and the Al-Wuroud districts. According to officials, the liquor seized had a street value of SR1.5 million.
