JEDDAH, 6 October 2006 — Out of 22 Al-Waha International School students who took the IGCSE exam this year, 14 targeted the ICE award. While eight of them received the certification with distinction, five placed in the merit category and one in the pass category.
Performance in individual subject streams has been outstanding as well and an impressive array of A* and A grades marked student achievements in the languages, sciences, math and humanities, the school reported yesterday.
Out of a total of 171 subject entries, 147 of the grades lie between A* - C, with 33 A*’s, 46 A’s and 44 B’s. Heading the best performers are Mohammed Jamal Amoudi with 7 A*’s, closely followed by Mohammed Hussain Abdul Aziz with 5 A*’s and 2 A’s to his credit. Taha Mubashir and Mohammed Hafiz with 4 A*’s and 3 A’s and Fahim Asghar with 3A*’s and 3 A’s had their top-notch performance in almost all their subjects.
Outstanding performers among girls are Madiha Zia and Samiah Khan with 2A*’s and 6A’s, and Azrah Zacky with 4 A*’s and 2A’s. The school said Furqan Mahmood, Shehzard Nizar and Nada Rizwan had brought laurels to the school with outstanding performances in almost all the subjects.
