Asia Festival to Begin in Jeddah on Oct. 27

JEDDAH, 12 October 2006 — Asian Consul Generals’ Club is organizing an Asia Festival at the International Indian School-Jeddah (Boys Section) auditorium for two days from Oct. 27, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Participating countries in the festival are Bangladesh, Brunei, China, India, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand.

The festival, to be inaugurated by Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Director General Mohammed ibn Ahmed Tayyab, will have cultural events from all the participating countries and also a bazaar featuring stalls for food, games, gift and consumer items, etc.

Tickets will be available at the security gate of the venue, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all days except from Oct. 12 to 25. The tickets are priced at SR10 for adults, SR5 for children in the 6-12 age group, and children below six years will be admitted free. Community members may contact their respective consulates to purchase tickets.
