Mobily Tennis Championship

JEDDAH, 12 October 2006 — The Kingdom will host the 7th Mobily International Tennis Championship set for Oct. 13 to 26 in Riyadh.

According to president of the Saudi Tennis Federation, Ahmed Al-Sinanni, “this would be a great opportunity for our players to improve and a chance to get a record in the international level.”

He said the championship gives the chance to many Saudi tennisters to rise, among them, Omar Al-Thagib, Fahd Al-Saeed, Salih Al-Rajih, Thamir Intabi and Abdullah Aburasheed.

The STF recommended Abdulaziz Al-Dilak for the championship presidency., Al-Sinnani players from Egypt, Lebanon, United States, Macedonia, Ghana, Turkey, United Emirates, Kuwait have confirmed their participation, well ahead of the deadline for registration on Oct. 14.

Saudi Athletics Federation Meeting

JEDDAH — The Saudi Athletics Federation had their last meeting of the season on Tuesday. The federation named a new technical committee that comprised Abdulrazzaq Moaz, Ibrahim Al-Owairan, Mahjoub Saeed and Yousif Al-Bousaidi.

The committee will follow up on the federation’s latest suggestions and ideas such as discovering and supporting new talents and supporting the training staff.
