DAMMAM — The Saudi national committee of Indian Islahi centers in Saudi Arabia, and affiliate to the KNM (Kerala Nadwathul Mujahideen) led by T.P. Abdullah Koya Madani and A.P. Abdul Kader Moulavi, is organizing the Saudi Islahi Conference in Riyadh Oct. 23-24 (Shawwal 1-2) titled “Islam is Mercy, Not Riots”. About 2,000 delegates will participate in the delegates’ session and more than 5,000 people will attend the public portion. This will be the first-ever meet with this much attendance of Keralites in Saudi Arabia. Organizers say the topic is relevant because Islam is facing challenges at the global level based on certain misunderstandings. Inaugural session will be held on Eid Day at a special pavilion at Batha, Riyadh. On Oct. 24, a session for women will be held. The public meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and members of different faiths are also encouraged to attend. C.P. Saleem (secretary-general, ISM Kerala), and K. Imbichi Koya and K. Abdul Razack (president and secretary-general, Islahi Center National Committee, respectively) made the announcement at a press conference.
