JEDDAH, 19 October 2006 — The Saudi Pediatrics Association will launch the Third International Conference on Child Health on Nov. 20-23 at the Jeddah Hilton.
Nov. 19 has been named Saudi Child Day by the organization and events are planned for that day to address issues such as the rights of children in Islam and the activities of international organizations dedicated to child protection.
More than 1,000 Saudi and international doctors and experts are expected to attend the conference. Sessions will discuss issues regarding kidney failure, emergency cases, abdominal and heart diseases, medical ethics, neurological diseases, neonatology, allergies, respiratory diseases, inherited diseases, biochemical reactions and other issues.
There will be 42 Saudi doctors from major hospitals in Jeddah and Riyadh, such as King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center in Riyadh and Jeddah, King Khaled National Guard Hospital and King Abdul Aziz University Hospital in Jeddah.
There will be 10 international speakers from the United States, France, United Kingdom, Canada, Sudan and China.
The other issue is to tackle the affect of environmental problems on children in addition to the condition of handicapped children. The conference is open for all people.
