JEDDAH, 19 October 2006 — Mobily this week released a new service that is the first of its kind in the Kingdom, according to the Public Relations Manager Humoud Al-Ghobaini.
“The service enables you to access your personal e-mail from the three major e-mail accounts — Hotmail, Yahoo and Gmail — through the Mobily Web service,” he said, adding that the new service also supports chat messaging. Pre- and post-paid customers of this service can also access the Internet on phones that support web browsing. Customers can even download programs, watch streaming programming, such as Al-Arabia, CNBC, Saudi TV 1, Saudi Sport, Space Toon and others, on 3G mobile phones that support wireless broadband Internet surfing.
Mobily’s “Ranan” service also includes downloadable ring tones. Mobily Web service is available for Mobily users on 1100 either by calling or by sending 1 to 1100.
Mobily is Saudi Arabia’s second telecommunications company and the sole competitor of the partially privatized Saudi Telecom Company.
