RIYADH, 18 November 2006 — The seven-member poll panel appointed by the Ministry of Education has asked parents to nominate members for election to the Board of Management (BOM) of the Bangladesh International School (English Section).
Interested parents should submit their nominations on or before Nov. 28. Nomination forms can be obtained from the principal’s office today and tomorrow. Elections will be held on Dec. 15 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Two weeks ago, Dr. Abdul Azeez ibn Dabyan, director general at the Ministry of Education (Riyadh zone) named the election panel comprising Mohammed Shaheed Mohammed Hussein, principal, Richard Brown, vice principal, Dr. Mohamed Shawkath, superintendent, Mohamed Shawkath Hussein, parent, Shah Alam Bakshi, economic counselor at the Bangladesh Embassy and Muidh Sarhan, supervisor of Foreign Schools at the Ministry of Education.
“We have finalized the procedures for nominations and subsequent elections of the new board members,” Principal Hussein said. Since the school has fewer than 1,000 students, only five members will be elected at the general meeting according to the ministry regulations, he added.
