DUBAI, 4 December 2006 — Cityscape Dubai 2006 is set to open today at the Dubai International Exhibition Center (DIEC) and runs through to Wednesday. Organized by IIR Middle East, this year’s three-day event is not only the largest Cityscape event, it is now recognized as the biggest event of its kind in the world, demonstrating the stamina and strength of the Middle East’s trillion US dollar property industry. With growth last year of 130 percent, the industry showpiece now covers 55,000 square meters hosting over 500 exhibitors from 55 different countries. In all over 35,000 visitors from 90 countries are expected at Cityscape Dubai 2006, representing prominent investors, lenders, owners and developers, not to mention industry experts in the fields of architecture and design.
Sulayem to Open SMEM 2006
DUBAI, 4 December 2006 — Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, chairman, Dubai World, will open Seatrade Middle East Maritime (SMEM) 2006, the region’s biggest conference and exhibition for maritime industries, at Dubai World Trade Centre today. Among the world’s top ten maritime forums, SMEM 2006 is set for its biggest showing so far — a full 33 percent larger than the 2004 event — with over 250 exhibitors from 32 countries and conference delegates from 45 countries. “The region’s unprecedented maritime growth is reflected in SMEM’s evolution as the leading event here for the global industry,” said Christopher Hayman, managing director, Seatrade.

SHARJAH — SNASCO, the Saudi-Emirati alliance, and developers of the Sharjah Investment Center (SIC), announced that they are moving forward to consolidate its presence and widen its projects in UAE. The project board recently met at the presence of Saleh Al-Sorayai, chairman of SNASCO, and discussed the widening of the firm’s horizons and their future strategic investments inside the UAE. “From the outset we knew that the UAE would be a good land for projects and an excellent place for property investments and today we are witnessing the truth of this, with the success of our plans. The great response the SIC has witnessed assures me that our choice was the right one”, said Saleh Al- Sorayai.
