Saudi Bets Look to Add to Initial Success in Bowling

DOHA, 5 December 2006 — Buoyed by their first-ever gold medal in bowling, Saudi Arabia enter the fourth day of the Asian Games competitions today looking to add to their initial success. The Kingdom bets are seeing action in six events.

Judoka Eisa Majrashi, 20, open his bid in the -60kg Round of 32 contest against Korean Nam Suk Cho at 2:00 p.m. at the Qatar Sports Club Indoor Hall.

Qatar Bowling Center stages the men’s trios final from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the Saudis fielding two teams.

Bader All-Muhana,18, will try to earn the elusive swimming gold when he lines up at the Hamad Aquatic Center for the men’s 50m Butterfly in Heat 3 at 10:04 a.m.

Saudi lifters in action are Abas Al-Qaisoum, 21 in the men’s 85kg and Ramzi Al-Mahrous, 24, in the men’s 94kg at Al-Dana Banquet Hall.

On tap today for cyclist Bader Al-Yasin, 22, is the men’s individual time trial at Al-Khor Road Course at 2 p.m.

At Lusail Shooting Range shooters Hadi Al-Qahtani, 42 , Saleh Al-Anazi,47, and Ayedh Al-Malki, 39 compete in the men’s 50m pistol qualification.

Still to see action are the national teams in athletics, equestrian, karate, taekwondo, water polo and wrestling.

In all Saudi Arabia is entered in 18 sport disciplines in this Games.
