JEDDAH, 6 December 2006 — Police said yesterday they are still on the lookout for two men believed to be Indian nationals who are the primary suspects in the fatal stabbing of Biran Koya, 40, an Indian stationery store employee.

Koya was stabbed 17 times in broad daylight on Oct. 31 at the store near Kilo 3 on the Old Makkah Road where the victim had worked for the past 10 years. Two Indian children discovered the body.

Koya may have died in a robbery attempt, police say. He also might have known his attackers.

A police source told Arab News yesterday that cameras at a nearby bank captured the faces of the suspects, but indicated the possibility that more than two men were involved in the crime.

A Saudi with bloodstains on his clothes was arrested on the day of the crime, but police ruled him out when DNA tests showed the blood didn’t belong to Koya.
