RIYADH, 12 December 2006 — Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz will arrive here today from Yemen on a four-day visit to the Kingdom, Pakistan’s Ambassador Shahid Karimullah told Arab News.
During his visit, the premier will meet Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, Crown Prince Sultan, deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation and Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf, minister of finance. He is also scheduled to meet Prince Talal, chairman of the AGFUND.
“The visit is part of Pakistan government’s efforts to forge closer ties with brotherly countries in the Middle East,” Ambassador Karimullah said, adding the premier’s visit to the Kingdom will focus on further promoting the mutually-beneficial relations in trade, investment, energy, education, science and technology. Describing it as a “business visit,” Karimullah said: “The premier will use his visit to tell Saudi investors about the attractive investment opportunities available in Pakistan.”
Prime Minister Aziz will meet with prominent Saudi business leaders and investors in Riyadh and Jeddah.
He will also lay the foundation for a new building for the Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah and address members of the Pakistani community. He said construction on the complex would start soon.
