JEDDAH, 19 December 2006 — Al-Ahli continue their campaign in Arab Champions League, looking to secure a very important three points against a tough team in Algeria CA Bordj Bou Arreridj today in the quarterfinal first leg match.
Ahli are on top of Group A with 3 points from a fine win against Qadisiya of Kuwait 6-0 in Jeddah on Dec. 11. They will be out to repeat the same performance and come back to Jeddah with 6 points before the upcoming match against El Zamalek of Egypt on Jan. 7.
CA Bordj Bou Arreridj tied against El Zamalek 2-2 in Cairo on Dec. 11 in the first leg match. The Algerian team will look forward also to secure the game three points and take the lead of the group. The Algerian team are expected to heavily mark Malek Muaz, the Ahli striker who scored four goals in the last match. More than 50,000 Algerian fans are expected to attend the match.
Any result other than that will not be in favor of the Algerian team. Ahli will play in tough cold weather in Algeria. The match will take place at 4 p.m. Saudi time. Ahli coach warned players and asked them to be careful because the field is not natural grass. He is expected to field the same side that he played with against the Kuwaiti team.
