JEDDAH, 26 December 2006 — Preparations for Jeddah Raceway’s Open Challenge, scheduled for Jan. 3 and 4, are under way and spectators can look forward to an even bigger and better event during the Haj holidays, according to organizers.
Mishael Al Suliman, vice president of Jeddah Raceway, said “ I think this will be a fantastic event, residents and visitors in Jeddah during their Haj holidays will be given one of the most thrilling events of motor racing action right on their doorstep and I expect we will add hundreds of new fans once they have experience the excitement and thrill of Jeddah’s race challenge.”
He pointed out that the event will comprise two races. He said “the first race will be a drag race where more than 40 are expected to compete for the best drag race drivers in the Kingdom. The second race for motorcycles will be the first time in Jeddah.” He said the races are open to all and each contestant will race in two qualifying rounds during the first day and the second day will for the final rounds.
The event supported by Bison, Al Jawal, Panadol and Gillette is expected to attract the best drivers in the Kingdom.
