Saudi, Dutch Firms Sign Agreement

DAMMAM, 24 January 2007 — Abdullah Fuad Holding Co. and the Dutch Core Lab International yesterday signed an agreement to establish in Dammam a SR30 million laboratory to test rock and petrophysical properties. The 1200-square meter facility will have 75 equipments to conduct tests related to underground hydrocarbon, soil and water. Abdullah Fuad, chairman of the board of directors of the holding company, said after signing the agreement with Steve Lee, executive director of the Dutch company that the new establishment will be called Abdullah Fuad CoreLab.

No Shortage of Asphalt in Kingdom

DAMMAM, 24 January 2007 — Saudi Arabia has no shortage of asphalt as Saudi Aramco has the capacity to meet the total requirements of the material in the Kingdom, according to a statement of Saudi Aramco’s Public Relations Director Ziyad Al-Shaiha in Dammam recently. “The company is committed to supplying the asphalt in required quantities to meet the country’s needs. The Aramco refineries at various regions in the Kingdom manufacture the asphalt on the basis of requirements of the projects undertaken by the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and contractors,” Al-Shaiha said.
