DUBAI, 30 January 2007 — The United Arab Emirates is on the verge of issuing a new legislation to regulate industry, according to a UAE cabinet minister.
“The new law has already been drafted and will be submitted to the legislative panel at the Ministry of Justice,” said UAE Minister of State for Finance and Industry Dr. Mohammed Khalfan Bin Kharbash.
Kharbash anticipated that the UAE economy would post a seven percent growth in 2007, buoyed by a strong performance by the service and industry sectors last year.
In 2006, the growth rate was estimated at 8 percent while the annual average in the past seven years touched 7.7 percent.
