RIYADH, 22 February 2007 - Kingdom Holding Company Chairman Prince Alwaleed bin Talal has made a substantial emergency donation to Indonesia's flood victims through Kingdom Foundation. The floods and landslides were caused by heavy rains that began in December last year and affected Aceh Province, Java coast and flooded Jakarta and the surrounding areas early this month. The donation, made via the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, is being administered by the Emergency Response Fund (ERF) to provide water and sanitation, health, provision of hygiene and other non-food items and nutritional support. The aid also comprises food items, tents, generators, clothes, blankets and medicine, according to a press release yesterday.
