RIYADH, 14 March 2007 — The Kingdom’s only budget airline, NAS Air, said on Monday that it is expanding its operations with three new destinations from its Riyadh base to Madinah, Jizan and Gurayat. Seats were on sale at flynas.com starting from the online promotional fare of SR19 for the first 30,000 bookings made until yesterday and valid for flying between April and June, according to airline’s Chief Commercial Officer Claus Fischer.

The second phase of its operation will kick off on March 31 with daily flights to Madinah.

Flights to Jizan will start from April 1 and to Gurayat from April 24.

“Following the inaugural Riyadh-Jeddah route, the airline now goes to higher gear and adds three more new routes in its operational grid, hence offering domestic travelers more choices and new services and travel experiences to discover,” Fischer added.

NAS Air’s expansion and the announcements of new destinations cater to the increasing demand on the Kingdom’s newly launched budget flight, which promises domestic travelers a reliable world class service with the best market fares,” Fischer said.

The airline launched its first commercial flight on Feb. 25 between Riyadh and Jeddah with three daily flights. It plans to serve all the Kingdom’s airports by increasing its fleet to 19 aircraft and expects to fly more than 10 million passengers a year by 2011.
