RIYADH, 19 March 2007 — Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, chairman of the board of directors of the Kingdom Holding Group, commended the leading position of the Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG) in the development of the media sector in the Middle East.
The prince made his comments in a meeting with Prince Faisal bin Salman, chairman of SRMG’s board of directors, on a visit to SRMG headquarters in Riyadh on Saturday.
Prince Alwaleed was briefed on the group’s achievements in recent years including the financial position of the group’s companies and its future projects and strategies.
The prince also expressed happiness at his acquisition of a 25 percent stake in SRMG and lauded the group’s lead position in the domestic and regional media industry and its ethos of adhering to international standards.
Prince Alwaleed and Prince Faisal toured various subsidiaries of the group and publications and observed daily operations there. Prince Faisal, who expressed his delight at Prince Alwaleed’s visit to SRMG and his interest in its future projects and plans, said the investments of an international financier of Prince Alwaleed’s stature would help the group achieve its future plans.
