TURBA, 6 April 2007 — Educators at a girl’s school here have come up with a slick form of punishment for bad behavior, the daily Al-Riyadh reported yesterday. The tactic involves pouring olive oil in the hair of the offender and then making her sit in class to bask in the humility. Taking oil baths might be considered nice, at home — with a nice fragrant Rose oil from Taif.
Putting to Rest Dead Man’s Debt
JUBAIL, 6 April 2007 — The family of a man who passed away a decade ago were surprised to get a call from a bank regarding SR8,000 worth of debt and late fees, the daily Al-Yaum reported yesterday. The family told the bank that they had attempted to close the account ten years ago and were surprised to get a collection call after so much time had passed. The bank had no choice at that point except to finally put to rest the unsecured-debt account of a dead man.
