DUBAI, 19 April 2007 — The Dubai Knowledge Village yesterday announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the European Association for International Education (EAIE) to boost the development of education in the United Arab Emirates.
The EAIE is a body that coordinates with international educational professionals to create a global environment facilitating education for all and works to aid the professional development of educators.
With the signing of the agreement, the European organization will address professional development by offering training courses to educators, sharing important issues via publications, and creating an environment for learning, debate and networking.
Dr. Ayoub Kazim, executive director of DKV and the Dubai International Academic City, and Fiona Hunter, president of the EAIE, signed the MOU.
“Dubai Knowledge Village is keen to build ties with reputable international education associations like the EAIE to ensure the development of higher education sector in the region and establish a strong networking channel with key European higher education providers,” said Dr. Kazim.
“Partnerships such as this can significantly contribute to boosting communication between education professionals and promoting the growth of the international higher education sector. Academic exchange with the global community is the key to the overall progress of our region’s educational sector,” he added.
The EAIE is a non-profit organization whose main aim is the stimulation and facilitation of the internationalization of higher education around the world and to meet the professional needs of individuals active in the education sector.
