RIYADH, 1 May 2007 — Three Riyadh girls have been granted scholarships by American and Canadian universities in recognition of their high scores and achievements in different subjects, especially mathematics.
“Three students of Manarat Al-Riyadh International School (English section) have been chosen for full scholarships,” said Shameemunissa Tahseen, head of the school’s mathematics department and coordinator of the American curriculum.
“These three students are Reem Madkour, Basma Khalifeh and Abeer Khan of Grade 12,” said Tahseen, while speaking on behalf of Manarat Principal Hend Al-Dakheel. She said that these students earned excellent scores in the SAT-1 Mathematics and English examinations.
Tahseen said that a math workshop will be organized tomorrow. Five teachers, Maha Al-Khodary, Sheeb Yousuf, Rania Shafi, Summaiya Arif and Eman Loufta, will be attending the workshop.
