JEDDAH, 3 May 2007 — A teacher in Jeddah’s Marwah district was on the receiving end of a student’s fist for attempting to break up a fight in a high school here, according to a local newspaper. A fight broke out between two boys at the Saad ibn Rabie Intermediate School. One of the student bystanders, a friend of one of the combatants, decided he didn’t like that the teacher was trying to break up the fight so he punched him in the face. The students fled before police arrived, but it didn’t matter anyway: The teacher didn’t file charges against his rabble-rousing pupil.
