In a local bookstore, a book titled “What Women Want Men to Know” caught my attention. It’s by Barbara De Angelis and deals with love, sex and the relationships of women and men. The author begins by addressing men, talking about the simple things they could do to make women feel more loved and stop driving their men insane.

This introduction left me a bit confused. Whose actions and treatment really drive the other insane?

The author was truly optimistic, promising to share some techniques and magical methods to nourish love between couples.

One of the crucial issues that comes as a priority to me is feeling secure. Why do women need more assurance and guarantees in a relationship than men? Why does she plan to spend the rest of her life with him? Why does she want to know what her partner feels or thinks?

The author affirms that the answer to all these questions is one. It’s considered a priority in the woman’s love agenda. She needs to feel secure in her relationship just as much as she wants to secure her food, her residence, education and health. She is in desperate need of emotional security and being affectionately appreciated and loved by her spouse. Good emotional support makes the woman more determined, disciplined and dedicated to take her natural position in society.

Feeling secure is the key to the woman’s heart, mind and spirit. When we, women, feel secure, we can express our emotions, feelings, goals and enjoy the comfort and the security. We blossom and nourish when we feel secure. I don’t think that protecting or securing a woman can be achieved by locking her up in the house or separating her from her natural needs. She needs real love, genuine words, compatibility, understanding, honesty and all sorts of physical and verbal romance.

Dear men and women, please be careful and don’t ignore each other, don’t be silent, avoid confrontation, and don’t be disrespectful of each other. Keep in mind that much of what women do that agitates and irritates men is because of their sense of insecurity.
