DAMMAM, 28 May 2007 — Oman Air is the first Gulf carrier flying directly to Lucknow for the benefit of Eastern Province residents. Flying thrice a week, the first flight for Lucknow took off on May 1. Flying out of Bahrain at 9 p.m., the flight stops over at Muscat before taking off for Lucknow where it reaches at 5.30 a.m., said Hamed Al-Harithy, district sales manager of Oman Air. “We shall be adding one more flight from June as we expect a heavier rush due to the holiday season,” said Hamed. Air-India too has added one more city to its growing list of destinations connected directly from Dammam. Come June 4, there will be a direct flight to Chennai, twice a week. “This is a consequence of the longstanding requirement of the Indian community hailing from in and around Tamil Nadu,” said Deepak Anand, Air-India’s manager in the Eastern Province.
