Keralite Group Holds IT Seminar

RIYADH, 9 June 2007 — Former Education Minister of Kerala Nalakath Soopy has emphasized the media’s role in enhancing public awareness about the benefits of information technology. “Kerala is set to make rapid progress in the IT sector with the launch of the Smart City project and the media should play a vital role in enhancing public awareness about information technology,” he said.

Soopy was speaking at an IT seminar organized by the RMCC, a cultural and educational group, in association with Zahid Learning Center (ZLC). He spoke about the initiative taken by the UDF government to promote IT sector.

In his message to the seminar, Dr. Z. K. Raychouni, corporate consultant of ZLC, said each individual should know the mission of his organization. “Knowing the goals and objectives will not only allow each one of us to be on the same path, but also create a team to constantly improve ourselves and our activities,” he said.

Abdul Rasheed Thailakandy, training and marketing specialist at the Zahid Learning Center, and IBM software consultant Nazeer Awal led classes on MS Excel and effective e-mailing. T.P. Mohahmmed, director Al Huda International School, Balachandran, general convener, Non-Resident Keralites, Ajith of OICC, Abdullah Manham, supervisor of RMCC, Mejdi El-Khater, software sales team leader, IBM, A. K. Mustafa (KMCC) and Shakeeb Kolakkadan of Deepika also spoke.

RMCC President E.V. Abdul Majeed presided over the function, while Secretary Abdul Kareem welcomed the guests.
