MAKKAH — The Health Affairs office announced yesterday that it began mosquito-abatement spraying in different parts of the holy city. Health officials also began distributing educational materials on mosquito-borne diseases in schools. The move is in response to numerous complaints from residents in different districts of the city.
Fire Breaks Out in Jeddah Apartment
MAKKAH, 20 June 2007 — A big fire broke out in one of Jeddah’s furnished apartments in Ghulail area east of the Jeddah-Makkah expressway next to Al-Taj clinic on Tuesday. According to the fire department the fire started in one of the apartments and moved to the other apartments in the building leaving behind huge losses. There was no death reported and the fire department said that the investigation is still under way to find out the reasons behind the fire.
